My surgical soundtrack

So I just got off the phone with an OR nurse that my surgeon put me in touch with. He said I could request a particular song or two to be playing when I’m rolled into the OR. I’ve decided this calls for a contest. Leave your suggestions in the comments and then we’ll have a vote. It’ll be fun, I swear.

  1. Don’t Worry, Be Happy
    Can’t Touch This
    The Jackson 5 – ABC
The Emotions – Best Of My Love
    The Archies – Sugar, Sugar

  2. Eye.Of.The.MotherF’in’.Tiger.

  3. Steph

    Cosmic girl – Jamiroquai
Mrs Jackson – Outkast (aka stop the rejection)

  4. afamiglietti

Let me just put this out there: Summertime by the Rural Alberta Advantage:

    – Title is your twitter handle
    – Lyrics about hearts beating, stars aligning, etc.
    – Lead singer is fairly cute: (as you can see here: and you can imagine him singing it just for you

Failing that, I think your idea to use Massive Attack’s “Teardrop” or something similar is a good idea. Remember, whatever you choose, it should sound good on valium.

  5. Charlotte Bruce

Change of Heart by Cyndi Lauper or Don’t go Breaking My Heart by Elton John, though either could drive you nuts after awhile. These songs are instructions for the doctors, mostly. But for sheer beauty, Mark O’ Connor’s the American Seasons–so beautiful!

  6. Andy Ash

She Blinded Me With Science – Thomas Dolby

  7. Kick Drum Heart, Avett Brothers…

  8. Golden Star — My Brightest Diamond

  9. Cuts Like A Knife – Bryan Adams
Bad Case of Loving You (Doctor, Doctor) – Robert Palmer

  10. Spiritualized – Ladies And Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space
